Part 2: Succeeding in Working From Home Online
Succeeding in working from home online is like finishing
your race. Consider that you are not a seasoned runner,
and that you want to run 3 kilometers (3,000 meters) for
your exercise. You believe that you can run the
3,000-meter exercise; after all, it is only 6 times
500-meter exercise.
The first 500 meters is very tough. Your body is telling
you to quit. Your body wants to go back to the comfort
zone -- stay at home. If you are not determined, you
might just give up. Only your commitment makes you
continue running.
You eventually achieve 1,000 meters, and you realize
that actually you can run this far! So you continue to
run.
After 1,500 meters, you start to feel tired. By now your
body is telling you that it is better to stop and rest;
after all it is already a good exercise. You are tempted
to give up. But because you had aimed -- and are
committed -- to run for 3,000 meters, you still continue
to run. You tell yourself: "I must finish the
3,000-meter course." At this time, however, you need
your self-motivation to take over. You start to make the
exercise fun; you say to yourself: "Let us run just
another 100 meters."
After 2,000 meters, you see that continuing to make the
exercise fun does work! So you hang on and continue that
approach; you may change the "intermediate objective"
and now say to yourself: "Let us run just another 50
meters." You play game with yourself and continue making
the exercise fun, and eventually achieve the 3,000-meter
objective!

your efforts produce nothing. It is not an easy journey.

3. Hang on.
Thomas Alva Edison said, "Our greatest weakness lies in
giving up. The most certain way to succeed is always to
try just one more time." Remember that a winner never
quits and a quitter never win and that when the going
gets tough, the tough gets going.
Internet business is not an easy field. There are many
things to learn, many frustrating days to pass by. There
are times you just want to quit, and those are times
when you have to hang on and continue the journey until
you succeed in working from home online. Richard Nixon
expressed it rightly, "Defeat doesn't finish a man -
quit does. A man is not finished when he is defeated.
He's finished when he quits."
4. Change the intermediate objective.
At the beginning you break your running objective into
500-meter laps, then into 100-meter laps and later on
into 50-meter laps because that is easier and more
practical.
In internet business there are moments when you have to
change the objectives, perhaps because you select the
wrong business or program, or do not see an opportunity
nearby. You need to choose more promising program or
take a good business opportunity you just see -- those
that will ensure results and successes in working from

5. Have fun.
You need to have fun with your exercise and make a game
out of it. Have passion on what you are doing. Digest
what Anita Roddick said, "First, you have to have fun.

Recently my product development business started earning
enough money for me to be able to devote my full

while now, but here's how I got to this point, how I

year. Find something you could do in order to make ends
meet if things don't go as well as you hope. Keep it
close to you to give yourself the courage to strike out
